Besides Retirement Planning, Steve loves dogs, kids, the Lord and his wife, just not necessarily in that order.
He is very dedicated to his work helping people plan for retirement. When not meeting with clients, he is constantly studying and doing continuing education to stay ahead in the field he loves. He has been very active in his church. In the summertime you may reach him while he is eagerly exploring and using various types of watercraft at his second home.

I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University who never stopped learning. After building a successful business in the construction field, I found my passion; helping people plan for a successful retirement. It gave my career meaning and it gave my clients peace.

Along the way, I observed that many smart people in financial businesses make big mistakes. For instance, they like to make things complicated. I’m not sure who they are trying to impress with how much they know. I believe people see past that. I try to keep things straight forward and simple.

Another mistake I saw smart people making is… they focus on accumulating assets, what they call assets under management, thinking that large sums in portfolios are impressive. However, large portfolios can, and do, vaporize in a flash. Unfortunately, history has proven that market events can cause those assets to become deflated, diminish or disappear quickly. It has happened time and again.
I wanted to be different. I wanted people to have faith in their retirement plans and to know that their income would be there when the time came. Including when feared market events occur.
I sought out ways that people could count on their retirement. With guarantees, real numbers equate to spendable income. Knowing what you have for retirement income: what a concept! I also know that my client’s needs change over time with family events, health issues and our constantly changing world. Making myself available to clients to walk with them and advise them through these changes, is one of my top priorities.
